Summertime Loving

With the past few days really heating up, I couldn't help but think what was on my summer wishlist. Nothing too extravagant, just some fun accessories to add to my closet. I could really spend my days in the sun with those heart sunglasses and the color of the clutch reminds me of a watermelon (which is pretty much a perfect summertime snack). Oh and how fun is the knot necklace? A bit nautical with a neon twist...love it! A bit of orange on my nails would be fun and these seashell earrings make me think of the beach and mermaids. Hopefully I'll be able to scratch one or two of these off of my list soon.

Life Lately

I know I talked about all my hopes that this concert would be amazing and let me
tell you, they were better than I ever could have imagined. I even got invited to go backstage
to the after party but yeah they only wanted girls and I was with a group of 5 guys.

Peanut m&ms...one of my favorites!

It would have been really nice to win the $600 on this game of bingo.
Is getting lucky too much to ask for?

Nickleback this weekend. They didn't play two of the songs I really wanted to
hear but they still put on a good show...I would definitely see them again.

Jellybean when he was a baby...thanks everyone for all of the sweet comments about him.
I'm starting to feel better about it.

It's finally starting to feel like summer and the days have been beautiful.
I decided to sit out on Chris' truck bed the other day and blog.

What have you all been up to? I hope life has been treating you well.

Fashion Chemistry: Maxi Skirt

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.
I had a lot of fun showing you all how I like to experiment with my clothing to get more ways out of wearing it, so I thought I would do it again.

Pulling up the lining is hands down my favorite way to wear this skirt. I love that it has an edgier feel to it and it's so much more interesting that a plain solid skirt. If you have a maxi that has a sheer layer, definitely try this out. It's a great way to take a long skirt and really make it work for all those hot summer days.

I've always tried the dress as a skirt look but this was my first time reversing the roles. It's a fun way to try the midi trend that has been around lately without having to spend money on it. This kind of look has endless possibilities...you can pair it with a knotted up tee, a crop cardigan like me, or belt it up. Whatever is more your style, just make sure to cinch in your waist so you don't become shapeless.

This is a fun look to completely transform your maxi skirt. When I first did this, I fell for the drape and the asymmetrical hem line...I think it gives the skirt so much character.  All it took was a chunky knot....so simple. If you do try the knotted up look just make sure to tie above your knees so that you can easily walk around.
