Flower Girl

The past few days have been beautiful outside and I couldn't resist the chance to enjoy a bit of it the other afternoon. We spotted this tree while driving around trying to find a good place to relax and listen to music and decided to take a few photos. I think Chris secretly likes to be my photographer but won't fully admit it.  I had made the floral halo a few days before and wore it for the first time here and felt all pretty and girly even with just a simple top and shorts.  I had never thought a floral halo would be for me but they are quite addicting and now I'm wanting to make a few in several different colors and styles.

Love Triangle

Blouse: Langford Market, Leggings: Gift, Heels: Target, Accessories: F21

When I saw this blouse hanging on the rack while shopping in Austin, I'm not sure what I loved more...the geometric print, the color combination, or the fun cut-outs. I have to say I've been having a gravitational pull to everything with triangles...not too sure what's going on with that. I also can't help but love that this blouse is one of those pieces in your closet that doesn't need much to make you feel amazing. I paired it with simple black leggings but I can't wait to try it with some skinny jeans or cutoff shorts.  I wore this out over the weekend for a much need pizza date with the boyfriend. We spent the weekend hanging out at our favorite places and doing things we enjoy doing together as a couple and splitting a large pepperoni pizza from Grimaldi's is definitely somewhere on the top of our list.

Make it Better Mondays: Embellished Brooches

Tank: Thrifted, Skirt: Thrifted, Heels: Rebecca Minkoff, Brooches: DIY

Hey lovelies, I hope you all had a great weekend. I had the weekend off and celebrated my anniversary  pretty much the entire time...enjoyed every minute of it.

I wanted to start off this week with a new series on the blog. So I present to you, Make it Better Mondays: a feature that will focus on taking something old you may already own and finding a way to give it a new life in your wardrobe.

The brooches on my tank are from a shirt I found at the thrift store sometime last week. The previous owner had cut holes all along the side seams and ruined the shirt but I fell for the embellishments that were on the shoulders. I knew it would be simple enough to turn them into brooches that I could pin and have fun with.

Here's How to Make it Better
_____________________________________________________________________________

1. Supplies: Embellishment, felt, scissors, glue gun, pins
2. Cut off embellishment from shirt
3. Attach the pins with glue and place felt on top to hold it all together
4. Pin your new brooch & wear!

Hope you enjoyed this
